2018-2020.
This project builds on the advances developed in a previous UBACyT project to pay special attention to the relationship between images, media and devices in the scenario of what we call visual culture 2.0. We propose to address certain types of images produced in digital media. The interactive-collaborative nature of these completely transformed the Internet and boosted its development with the arrival of smart phones. This massive capacity to create and share content in a simple and fast way has given rise to what André Gunthert calls imagen conversacional (Gunthert 2015). These devices have become the most widespread space for access and interaction on the network. These images share elements of the poor images and the conversational images to which can be added the clonationthe replica and motionIn this sense, Gunthert points out that we have moved from the era of the technical reproducibility of the image to that of its digital appropriability, while for W. J. T. Mitchell, to the era of its biocybernetic reproducibility (2014:107). The nature of the supports determines the ways in which an image can be produced, reproduced, viewed, manipulated, archived, transmitted and shared, as well as its duration and capacity to persist over time. Images in visual culture 2.0 respond to the conditioning of new devices for looking. The latest generation mobile phones, social networks, the logic of web 2.0, instant messaging applications, etc., draw the broadest lines of this visual culture that we will try to define.
