Abstract: The incorporation of digital tools applied to the collections of the science cabinets of the National College of Buenos Aires is proposed. The particularity of these collections is that they are teaching materials but also heritage objects. This double identity makes it necessary to consider digital tools as innovation in pedagogical terms as well as in relation to access, dissemination and conservation of their heritage. In the current scenario, educational institutions and museums have increasingly incorporated the use of digital technologies for these purposes, expanding not only access but also the democratization of knowledge. This project proposes the design of a strategy for innovation of educational resources and heritage conservation, through the incorporation of digital tools and new pedagogical architectures for the educational museums of science cabinets, involving the participation of the institution and the community.

The AAV will participate in December 2022 in the ELAD2022 meeting, organized by the Latin American Network of Digital Anthropology, with the work "Patrimonio y Humanidades Digitales: Proyectos interactivos en los museos didácticos del Colegio Nacional de Buenos Aires (Argentina)«, where we will present the progress of the project. For this meeting we have created a small experience in Spatial, a digital environment where we can explore the work process we have been carrying out. In this sense, these so-called metaverses, which are digital environments, can become an interesting way to create these experiences, fundamentally because they are social spaces. Digital environments are not exhibition halls but social environments for meeting.

This feature is key to begin to understand its characteristics and possibilities. They are multi-user spaces that articulate physical and virtual reality, where we can collaborate, participate, experiment and exchange ideas through our physical presence with our avatar. Because in XR we are physically present with our body. Digital environments can be defined as spaces where corporality and interactivity come into play. For the CNBA project we hope to soon have the first environments of Cabinets and Science Museums, open to explore.
